Eggless French Toast

Brighten up your morning with an Eggless French Toast, a drizzle of maple syrup, and some fresh fruits…!!!

So what do I cook for breakfast today? Hmmm… something quick; Well, I’ve got bread, milk, & fruits in my pantry… so a French toast may be??? Oh boy, Yumm!! But wait a minute, I don’t have eggs. Now what? Well I think I know what to do, no worries at all. I’m gonna try an Eggless French toast…!!!!

Breakfast is the important meal of your day and I love to cook something sumptuous. But at times the sleepyhead in you makes you so lazy to cook early in the morning that you wish you could fix up something very quick, especially those days when my hubby starts early to office for his morning meetings. That’s when I seek the blessings of the smoothie gods and the cereal gods, or it would be some bread recipes.

This 5 ingredient eggless French toast recipe is so simple, hardly takes 5 minutes to prepare and it’s so yummy to appease your hungry stomach.

So, how did I get the classic French toast taste without eggs?? I’ve used corn starch, cinnamon and vanilla extract which gives that beautiful flavour and covers up all the missing of the eggs…and it’s delicious…!!

I have used multigrain bread in this recipe which is one of my favourites, but any bread would do or any dense bread like brioche works great too.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small bowl, mix milk, corn starch, cinnamon powder and vanilla extract. Stir well.
  2. Dip bread on this mix to coat well on both sides (do not make it soggy).
  3. Cook bread on a lightly greased griddle until brown on both sides. (2-3 mins in total).
  4. Sprinkle some powdered sugar (optional), serve with honey/maple syrup and fresh fruits.
